Editorial standards

How we research and source what you read here.

Life insurance is a decision that affects your family's money and security, so the information around it should be held to a high bar. Here's the standard every page on this site is written to — and what we will never do.

Our standard

Four rules we hold every page to.

These aren't marketing promises — they're the working rules our content is written and reviewed against.

Every figure is cited to a named authority

When we state a number, we name its source on the page so you can check it. We rely first on primary and industry authorities such as LIMRA, the CDC, the IRS, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Social Security Administration, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the NFDA, the NAIC, the VA, the FMCSA, OPM, and HHS. Where no primary source publishes a figure, we say so and name the secondary source we used — an insurer's own product page, a trade publication, or a widely reported industry estimate — rather than presenting it as authoritative. For anything about a carrier's financial strength, we point to the independent ratings agencies — AM Best, Moody's, S&P Global Ratings, and Fitch — and to consumer-protection bodies like the Insurance Information Institute and NOLHGA.

We never invent prices or rates

You won't find a made-up premium, a fabricated "average rate," or a carrier's numbers we can't stand behind. Real pricing depends on your age, health, and the specific carrier — so we point you to a real quote instead of guessing.

We stay independent

As an independent agency we work with multiple carriers, and our education pages don't push one company. When a page explains a product, it explains the product — not a sales angle for a particular insurer.

We're honest about what we can't promise

Underwriting, tax treatment, and eligibility vary by person, carrier, and state. So we hedge where the honest answer is "it depends," and we tell you to confirm specifics with a licensed agent, your doctor, or a tax professional rather than implying guarantees.

Review & corrections

Written for people, reviewed for accuracy.

Plain language, on purpose

Our readers range from first-time buyers in their twenties to families arranging final-expense coverage in their eighties. We write to be understood by all of them — short sentences, no jargon without a plain explanation.

Reviewed by licensed professionals

Content that touches underwriting, taxes, or eligibility is reviewed by a licensed insurance professional before it's published, and revisited as rules and figures change.

Education, not a substitute for advice

These pages help you understand your options. They are not a suitability determination or personalized financial, medical, or tax advice — that comes from a licensed agent who knows your situation.

Found something wrong? Tell us

If a figure looks off or out of date, we want to fix it. Call (737) 258-3742 or reach us at info@policysolutionsagency.com and we'll review it. Accuracy is a standard we keep, not a claim we make.
